Superdelic is one of the latest hops to make it through the NZ Hops breeding program. 2023 was the first full commercial harvest. In full transparency we did add a small amount of a new hop from Segal Hop Ranch called Zumo to the dry hop. Just like with NZH-105 the standard pale ale dry hopping rate didn’t create a beer that really popped. Since we didn’t have anymore Superdelic but we did have a freshly opened bag of Zumo we tossed that in. We get lots of melon, some nice NZ diesel/dankness, a red candy like flavor and some bright Citrus from the Zumo. This is a great refreshing crusher with some totally unique hop character that’ll pair well with all this hot/dry weather we’re having. All our single hop Pale Ales are designed to be a little drier, lighter, and less hop saturated than our 5% LIPAs. They’re always a great showcase of what the hop offers.
