So Out It’s In

WET Hop IPA

A Wet Hop beer in February? In this economy? How is this even possible you ask? Well the fine folks at @yakimachiefhops figured out how to flash freeze wet hops just off the bine and then run them through their super cold Cryo pelletizing line. They store them frozen and send them to us Overnight on dry ice so we can throw them in a beer the day they arrive. It’s an intense (and expensive) process but we really feel like it’s worth it. Does it tastes exactly like the fresh hop beers we offer during Hop Harvest every year? Not quite, but it’s not far off.

This beer used copious amounts of Simcoe, Columbus, and Mosaic in the kettle and whirlpool in order to lay that resinous WC IPA backbone. We then dry hopped it heavily with Cryo Fresh Citra, Krush, and Mosaic. The result is a dry, bitter, WC IPA with explosive aromatics. Even though Citra was a larger percentage of the Dry Hop, the Krush really shines in this beer. Lots of sweet melon and berry notes abound with some citrus and plenty of sticky dankness from the Mosaic.
