There is nothing quite like Riwaka. It’s one of the hardest to grow and hardest to source hops in the world. As recently as 4 years ago virtually none of it even left New Zealand. We’re fortunate to have access to some great lots of it and we really think it’s unique characteristics shine in this beer. Three different lots from three different farms and two harvest years went into the kettle, whirlpool, and dry hop additions for this beer. Vibrant Citrus from pink grapefruit and lime zest to passion fruit and kumquat explode from this beer yet it’s not all fruit. A complex earthy/diesel character that’s common to a lot of NZ hops really adds a nice level of complexity and keeps the beer interesting and invites the next sip.
