Phone It In, our series of 6.7% IPAs that combine two of our favorite hops, is back. We rebrewed Galaxy/Nelson which we haven’t brewed in 2 years. This batch features some special hops. Galaxy has notoriously been not so bueno over the last 5 or 6 years and honestly we’ve been scared to use it. However HPA has been laser focused on getting this hop back to the flavor and aroma it had it its heyday (think 2012-2018). We were fortunate to score some of the 3 highest sensory rated lots of 24 Galaxy that are in the country right now and we used one of them in this. Not only that but we also used a ton of Nelson from our buds at Garston Hops. Their farm is situated 600 miles farther south of the typical hop growing region of NZ and creates some flavors and aromas not normally found in varieties grown further north. This one is packed with very dense hop character and for all you haze hounds, it’s hazy AF! (You can thank Galaxy for that)
