NZH-104 is a new experimental variety our of New Zealand. We brewed with NZH-105 last winter and liked it a lot. 104 is definitely a bit different. It’s very expressive with notes of dried tangerine and juicy papaya with other tropical fruit tones and a bit of pine. We’ve never used a hop quite like it. Who knows if it will get a name or if it will never get to full commercial scale production. We certainly dig it so we’re interested to see what the future lies for it. As with all our 5% Pale Ales they’re brewed to be slightly drier and a little less hop saturated than our 5% LIPAs but are still higher hopped than most breweries 5% hoppy beers.
