For this beer we chose a decadent milk stout base and added over 2lbs per barrel of Columbia Linarco Rodriguez Ospina Anaerobic Washed Bourbon Rosado whole beans from our good friends at Idlehands Roasting. Not long ago we were introduced to AJ from Idle Hands by a mutual friend. We knew within minutes of speaking with him about coffee that we needed to work with him on our next coffee beer. His passion for quality, consistency, and transparency was truly eye opening when we visited him in Salt Lake a few weeks ago. After a short cupping session we settled on this Columbia Anaerobic Bourbon and we think it expresses beautifully in this beer. Intensely coffee forward with enough residual sweetness to balance out the roast character and provide incredibly soft and smooth drinking experience.
