KRUSHING ON VERA

WEST COAST IPA

Krushing on Vera is the first in a series of 6.3% West Coast IPAs focused on combining different hops with Krush (formerly HBC586). Krush is the most exciting hop to come out of the Pacific Northwest since Mosaic. We’ve used it quite a bit but are still learning how it plays with other hops. This series will be a 50:50 blend of Krush with another hop. For this first round we used another hop that we’re really excited about called Vera. Vera was just named back in June and was previously known as HRC03. We used it back in the spring in Guest Experience and really loved it. It’s grown by our great friend Diane Gooding from Gooding Farms in Wilder, ID. It’s a public hop variety meaning anyone can grow it. Unlike Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe, etc that are private hops that need to be licensed to grow. Vera delivers a really interesting mix of nostalgic candy like aromas and flavors along with a subtle spice that balances out the perceived sweetness from the candy like flavors. Krush delivers a really floral, citrusy complement with a little bit of woody like character that keeps

the beer from being all fruit. It’s incredibly interesting and you’ve probably never had a beer like it as no one that we’re aware of has combined these two hops to date.
