WEST COAST L IPA - Fresh Hop Version
A special batch of Gooding Farms is here. Last brewed in March and also a gold medal winner at the Great American Beer Festival in the Vera Beer category. Like Oros it’s an all new West Coast L IPA that showcases nothing but the finest hops from Gooding Farms. This woman owned and operated, sixth generation hop farm in Parma, ID grows some bangin hops. This is a little different than all the other fresh hop beers we’ve released this year. It starts out as a standard batch of Gooding Farms that showcases their Citra, Centennial, and Simcoe on the hotside but in standard T90 format. After fermentation with a clean American Ale yeast we then dry hopped this batch with nothing but 2026 Harvest whole cone dried hops. When we’re grabbing wet hops each time we’re in ID we’re also grabbing a small amount of freshly kilned hops off the cooling room floor before they’re processed. We use these in the hopback of most DAMP beers but chose to put all the remaining varieties in a dry hop this time around. The resulting beer has a totally unique “fresh” character that’s not quite what you get from using wet cones but different than if we had just dry hopped this with standard pellets.
