DAMP 24.03

FRESH HOP XPA

DAMP 24.03 was brewed with more of that fabulous wet Centennial from Gooding Farms at a rate of 10lb/bbl. We also added a bit of freshly kilned Centennial from the same field to the hopback as well. Dry Hop additions consisted of freshly kilned HBC109 and Pink from Jackson Hop Farms as well as more freshly kilned Centennial from Gooding. What’s an XPA you ask? Think of a little lower ABV IPA with a little lower bitterness and a super pale in color. It’s a style that was popularized in Australia and has recently seen a bit more interest here in the US. The blend of these hops gives the beer a very different profile than 24.02. We’re getting notes of Gummy Peach Rings, pink starburst, terpy lemon zest, and that unique green Fresh Hop character that’s akin to the taste of a watermelon as you get close to the rind. We used our Kolsch yeast for this beer so it has a slightly different ester profile than our other fresh hop beers this year.
