BIN CHICKEN

Aussie Mid Ale 3.8%

Hey look another “WTF is that?” beer! An Aussie Mid Ale is not necessarily a style of beer but more a category. It describes a really easy drinking beer that generally falls somewhere between 3.5 and 4% ABV. They’re incredibly popular in Australia, or so we’re told. We brewed Bin Chicken with our good fried Ian Pope from Five 5eeds. Using his wealth of knowledge of this category we chose to brew what is essentially an English Ordinary Bitter. (literally the worst name for a style ever) 98% Golden Promise malt and some Invert sugar in the boil to create a light auburn, kinda dark gold color and a little bit of malt complexity. We then hopped it with 100% Anchovy hops in the kettle and whirlpool for a nice light citrus and raspberry seed note. It’s a real crusher with just a bit more malt character which goes great with the weather we’re having this time of year. Don’t worry it doesn’t contain any chicken.
